More on Fundraising
Ms. Clark knows someone that makes lanyards and thinks that would be a great fundraiser. She is willing to help us and will have samples at the meeting on February 22. I think it's a great idea. We'll need about 25 volunteers, to make 150 lanyards, which means students and parents. It takes about 15 minutes to make one. We can also have Anneca show us some things to make and sell.
February 22nd Meeting
Hello everyone. Just in case you didn't receive the email from Ms. Clark about the Feb. 22nd meeting, the information is below:
Hello International Travelers, I am becoming excited about our travels to Ghana. We have been busy trying to handle details to make sure you have the experience of a lifetime. I hope you've been doing your part. Our next mandatory meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m. at Lincoln Center. We will meet in the same conference rooms that we did during the initial meeting. (Room A and B when you enter through the side door) Parents and students should plan to attend.
On February 22 you will need to have the following items:
1. Completed application and medical form with copies of your insurance card
2. Fundraising letter (the one students were to write seeking funding)
3. List of sponsors (family, friends, teachers) that you've sent fundraising letter to
4. Second installment ($250.00) due Feb. 22 (Payable to the Public School Foundation)
5. Submit two questions you may have regarding Ghana. Your parents must also submit a question. Submit your questions to Ms. Clark no later than Friday, February 16th.
6. Bring your journals!! We'll begin writing about our trip.
Some other things to remember: You should have applied for your passport, I'll need an update on the status of passports. Ask someone who is currently teaching you, taught you last year or someone from the community for a letter of recommendation. I would encourage you to have them submitted no later than February 28th.
You'll need an additional $50.00 in March or April for your VISA (the cost for sending them to Ghana for approval and getting them returned in time for our travel.)
If you have questions about any of this information, please contact Ms. Clark or Mr. Meyer ASAP.
